Hello,
We begin October heading towards a full moon on the 5th. Things come to light during full moons. What’s coming to light for you?
Overall, October is shaping up to be an excellent month to get things done. It’s a good month to put together a personal plan as well as a plan for your house. It’s also a
great month to move indoors and prepare for the colder months.
After doing a major move in July, I’m sensing that my transition will continue for many more months. It’s all good and is leading to a new “norm.” Although a routine may not surface for quite some time. My shift will continue into the new year, including a retreat in India from early January to mid-February. I’ll write more about this next month. I’ll be doing 2018 updates during December and after I return in February. Let me know if you’d like the update for your home
done early.
Enjoy October!

Are you familiar with Tiny Homes? My husband, daughter and I attended a Tiny Homes Fest in Brattleboro, VT over Labor Day weekend. We saw some wonderful, very small homes.
The
tiny home movement is about living simply in small spaces, such as 250 – 300 square feet. Can you imagine this?...

One feature of great cities is great parks. However, not everyone has access to a neighborhood park. A solution? Parking spaces are being repurposed as pop-up parks!

Home Feng Shui Tip: Seasonal Adjustments
|
The beginning of fall is a great reminder that it’s time to make seasonal adjustments in your home. Fall is the gathering and harvest season prior to the arrival of winter. It’s time to prepare your space for spending more time
inside. This is also a metaphor for spending more time on your inner journey. You can create a warmer and cozier environment using heavier fabrics and deeper hues. Cozy does not mean cluttered. If you are bringing things in from the outdoors or other areas, be sure to remove some items as you add others.
A deep fall cleaning is another seasonal adjustment I highly recommend. Deep cleanings shift the chi, which is what feng shui is all about. When you shift the chi in your space, you also shift it in yourself and everyone who comes into the
space.
In today’s world, you don’t have to do all the work
yourself. Some people enjoy doing deep cleanings because it puts them more in touch with their space. Others don’t have the time or interest. That’s OK. You can hire someone to help you out. It’ll be well worth it. You’ll benefit from your sparkling and refreshed space and you’ll have helped someone else earn their living. It’s a win-win.

Office Feng Shui Tip: Eliminate Annoyances
|
Are you working with tools that are less than ideal? If so, repair or replace them for optimal results. Recently I needed a headset to listen
to audio via my computer. I have a set that is not comfortable. Then my husband gave me a set that he wasn’t using, which worked great. The only problem is that the cushioned earpads were worn and the company doesn’t make replacements. After searching the web for alternatives, I ordered a new set of headphones. They arrived two days later. The price was reasonable and the quality is high. The worn set immediately went into the trash.
Although I’m not one to easily toss out working equipment, I know that hanging onto the worn headset or wearing the set with discomfort could negatively impact my
efforts and results. Every time I used them I would have been thinking “the worn pads are annoying.” or “My ears hurt!”
Months ago, I had a similar experience with pens and pencils. I tossed out every pen and pencil in my office that was less than ideal. I had many and they needed some thinning out anyway.
Letting go of things that don’t work smoothly facilitates an easier workday and stronger, more effective results.
Is there anything in your environment that annoys you that you could easily fix? If yes, do so this month.
