 Hello Everyone,

June has come quickly and along with it, the summer solstice. Enjoy as the days continue to grow longer, while we can. I find the summer solstice somewhat bittersweet. It is the height of light before the second half of the year and a gentle decline begins.

I spent part of mid-May in NYC for my daughter’s college graduation. It was a lot of fun. Part of the process of pushing the “Easy Button” this year was renting a beautiful townhouse for six family members in a part of Harlem that is being restored. It was clean, spacious, and beautiful. I wrote about some of the features in an article below.

We begin June with a full moon on Tuesday, June 2nd. This helps to energize the weekend. The early part of June is an excellent time to clean out and refresh the Knowledge areas of your home and land. This will help to align you with the energies of this month.

If you are in the local area, I’ll be at Just Naturals in Bedford, NH on Thursday evening, June 4th for our last “Girls Night Out” for the season. Join us if you would like a complimentary I Ching reading, to meet a variety of holistic practitioners, or to explore some super all natural skin care and cleaning products locally produced. It’s always an enjoyable evening.

Mercury retrograde ends June 11th. After allowing a few days for a quiet period, things will pick up again beginning June 15th.

Enjoy June!

June 2nd Full Moon and Wealth
If you adjusted the Wealth and Prosperity sector of your home or any room in your home, with intention, for the May 17th new moon, tune in and notice how things are unfolding beginning with the June 2nd full moon. As I indicate each month, new moons are about new beginnings. The intentions we set with each new moon take root and begin to take shape beginning with the full moon two weeks later. The Wealth sector is the back left of your home as you look in from the outside. It is the same for each room, looking in from the entrance, as well as your land. Keeping the Wealth sector in good shape and clear of debris helps prosperity and blessings to flow to you more easily.
June 18th New Moon and Knowledge Gua
Each month we have an opportunity to bring ourselves and our spaces into alignment with overarching energies that influence us each day. The Tuesday, June 16th new moon is in the sign of Gemini. This corresponding area to energize in your home is the Knowledge gua. This is the front left area of your home and workplace.

The two-week period prior to the new moon is an excellent time to focus on self-introspection by tuning into your Self on a deep level. Reflect on where you are and where you are headed. Notice what calls to you and what you really desire. Perhaps you are looking for a creative solution to a long-standing problem or clarification about where you are headed. Maybe it is time to open to deep inner wishes that you may have tucked away, thinking they were not possible. You might also know exactly what you want but you gave up trying for a variety of reasons.

If so, try a fresh approach. Play with the possibility that things can shift in magical and unexpected ways. The energies during the latter part of June support cultivating knowledge and generating creative solutions. If you would like to gain more clarity about any topic, clean and energize the front left area of your property and the spaces where you spend time. Do this for your land, the front left area of your home, the front left corner of your bedroom, and the front left area of every room in your house. Do it for your business as well.

Begin by giving these areas a thorough cleaning. Repair, remove or toss out anything that is broken, remove all cobwebs, wash your windows and curtains, thin out excess paper and magazines, etc. Assess the flow of energy. Perhaps re-arrange some furniture for a new perspective or to uplift the chi of the area. Outside, thin out plants and trees that may be overcrowding the area and clear away rubble.

Enhancements for the Knowledge area include: the colors blue, green or black; square shapes, mountain images, pottery and earthenware, natural crystals, shells, and books. You can also “fire up” this area by adding a little red or pink, some lights or candles, pictures or people or animals, and triangular shapes. Inside, this is a great area for a library or study. Outside, the Knowledge gua is a great location for a meditation space or herb garden.

Have fun energizing your Knowledge area prior to June 16th. You can tune into the results beginning with the July 1st full moon. Remember: new moons are a time to launch new intentions and full moons are about beginning to see the fruits of our labors. Working with one specific area of your home each month is a very good way to attract beneficial energy that is in alignment with the cosmos.

NYC Feng Shui
For my daughter’s college graduation we used “Home Away” to rent a renovated townhouse to sleep six people in the south Harlem part of Manhattan.  After we arrived and settled in, my husband and I remarked to each other “I could live here!”

Here are some feng shui features of this home that make it so nice:

1. Views of nature: This home is on a tree-lined street and also had a garden in the back.

2. Safety: You enter the outside stairs via an iron gate, and iron grills over the front door glass. The doors also had substantial, solid locks. Street lights illuminate the area after dark.

3. Spacious rooms: This apartment is on two floors. It has 3 bedrooms and two full baths, along with a kitchen/dining/living area. The rooms were quite large.

4. High ceilings: the ceilings were at least 16 feet high. This added to the spaciousness and also helps to provide a lot of wall space and plenty of room for storage.

5. Light: The home sits south and faces north. The walls were white. Natural light filled the back rooms during the day and more than adequate light filled the front. A skylight in the bath on the top floor also added natural light.

6. Wood floors: The floors were a beautiful solid wood with area rugs. No creaks or squeaks when walking. Wood floors are a healthy choice as they are easy to care for.

7. Quiet: The solid walls and windows provided very nice insulation from adjoining homes, as well as from street traffic.

8. Charm: An exposed, brick wall added charm along two flights of stairs, along with an iron railing.

9. Comfortable seating: The seating in the living room was quite comfortable. It also fit the room well.

10. No clutter: The simple décor and lack of clutter added to the clean, spacious feeling.
An attractive aspect of city living is the close proximity of basic necessities, conveniences, and whatever you need. Public transit was also a short walk from this location, along with two public parks: Central Park and Morningside Park.

Staying in an area that had such nice aspects of home and nature made being in the city quite enjoyable. As a bonus, we also had free parking directly in front of this home for our entire stay! Just after we brought our bags into the home and prepared to go to a local garage, a parking spot opened up. How cool is that?
Feng Shui Cures: Mirrors
Mirrors have many uses when in feng shui. Often called the aspirin of feng shui, mirrors absorb, reflect and expand images, open up spaces, direct and guide chi, enabling it to flow more easily. Mirrors also bring balance, draw in auspicious chi, penetrate closed areas, and ward off negative influences. In addition to beautifying spaces, they are used in numerous cures and adjustments.

Energetically, mirrors are considered empty until intention is placed into them. From a mundane perspective, mirrors are glass and therefore represent the Water element. Energetically Water supports Wood (the growth of trees and plants) and diminishes/depletes the sharp energy of Metal. Reflective in nature, mirrors enhance light and double the image of whatever they reflect.

A variety of mirrors are used in feng shui. The most common ones are:

Bagua mirror – Octagon shaped mirrors that are typically placed over front doors to protect what is behind them. Bagua mirrors can be flat, convex or concave. If the bagua mirror has the trigrams on it as well, hang by placing the heaven trigram (three solid lines) on top and the earth trigram (three broken lines) on the bottom. ALWAYS hang bagua mirrors outside and replace them annually, prior to February 4th, the solar new year.
Flat mirror – These come in a variety of sizes. A 3-4” round mirror is typically used in cures and adjustments.

Convex mirror –Thinking back to science class, these are round mirrors that “pop out.” They are used to broaden what is seen. They widen an area of view and enhance what is seen. Convex mirrors also absorb energy from a wide range. You can purchase these easily from auto supply stores.
Concave mirror – This is a mirror that “sinks in.” Concave mirrors turn images upside down or away. They also soften and flatten images.  Energetically they are used to help “flip” difficult issues.  Use concave mirrors cautiously!
Sun/Moon Mirror – This is a mirror that has collected 24 hours of moon and 24 hours of sun over 27 days. Each side is marked “sun” or “moon.” Sun/moon mirrors are a balance of yin and yang energy. The sun side is used to vitalize, nourish, strengthen, and enhance energy and spaces. The moon side is used to slow things down, reduce anger, and bring focus and clarity. Sun/moon mirrors have many uses and are quite powerful.

Typically, mirrors should be seen and hung at eye level. When used to reflect people, make sure that the head of the tallest person typically in the space is reflected in the mirror. Whenever someone’s head is cut-off, a lack of confidence is a common pattern.

Mirrors used for cures and adjustments should be clear (not foggy or smoky), you as want to reflect clear images and set clear intentions. They should also be one piece vs. divided into several panes or sections. You can place intention into any mirror using the Three Secrets Reinforcement.

Periodically, mirrors break. Discard them when this happens and replace it with a new mirror.

Wireless Technology Concerns Continues to Gain Momentum
As the proliferation of WiFi continues, more and more people are connecting physical symptoms to things in their environment. It is estimated that 5% of the population is sensitive to these fields. Personally, I think that many more people are impacted and that we have yet to connect the dots. EMF awareness made the CBS primetime NYC news on May 20th. Watch this short segment if you are interested: http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2015/05/20/sick-from-wifi/

Last month a reader asked for a photo of a router in the router guard. The photo above is of the router guard.

The router guard is basically a mesh metal box that serves as a “faraday cage.” It traps 95% of the EMF fields inside. It will diminish the distance the router signal will carry. It is a fabulous solution if you or your pets regularly sit within close proximity of the router.

I placed a router in a router guard in my home and it works well. Everyone is receiving the signal they need without interruption or inconvenience.
