Hello Everyone,

OK. Winter won out this year! What a snowy and stormy pattern we have had. At first it was easy, beautiful, and fun. Then it grew weary and became a lot of work. As we have succumbed to winter, my husband and I have decided that we will be much better prepared to “do” winter more easily in the future. For us, this means purchasing a snow blower to replace shoveling after being plowed out, having our snow rake handy to clear the roof after each storm, and putting up more heat tape to keep the roof clear of ice dams. For other people, “doing winter better” may mean purchasing an airline ticket to a warmer climate.

Even though March can still be a snowy and stormy month, we know spring is coming. With that in mind, this is a good month to prepare for spring by uplifting the energy of our homes and work spaces. They may feel a bit drained and weary after the last several weeks. We can begin to replace darker colors and heavier fabrics with lighter and more vibrant choices. Fresh flowers are always a quick remedy for uplifting any space. Aromatherapy is a good choice too; see an article below for some information about this.

Similar to February, we are still in a cycle where it is a challenge to get new things started. It is a favorable time to wrap up projects you have underway and to clean up loose ends. By April we will be ready for new adventures.

Locally, I will be doing a workshop at the Village Bean in Windham, NH on Tuesday, March 24th. I’ll be at Just Naturals in Bedford, NH on Thursday, March 26th for Girls Night Out. Details are below.

I’m also offering a new service of providing answers to your questions via email or phone. See my March Special at the bottom of this newsletter for a link. Sometimes an answer to one specific question is just what you need to get things rolling along. If you feel overwhelmed with a thorough plan or comprehensive direction, this is an excellent way to make progress.

Enjoy March!

March 5th Full Moon … Push the EASY Button
The March 5th full moon energetically links to intentions that you set two weeks ago at the February 18th new moon, as well as the Helpful People and Travel gua. Full moons are periods when things come to light for us. The Helpful People and Travel gua is also related to the right people showing up at the right time, as well as places you would like to visit. Both the January 20th new moon and the February 18th new moon fell in the sign of Aquarius, which is associated with Helpful People and Travel. Although this is rare, it turns out to be a very good thing that we have had a doubling up of this energy. We certainly need it with the way winter that set in.

This year I am emphasizing pushing the EASY button. One EASY route appeared in the form of a recommendation of who to hire to clear our roof of snow and ice dams. Even though we heard stories that people and companies were severely backed up, we followed up and two helpful people showed up the next day. I spent the day before clearing as much as I could. It took hours and although I made progress, much more needed to be done. Our helpful people blasted though what would have taken me and my husband many more hours (and perhaps days) in much less time. They had the right equipment, attitude, and stamina.  All I had to do was to write a check. This is a good lesson and reminder to continue to push the EASY button.

Sometimes we are reluctant to ask for or seek help because we can do it ourselves. Stepping back and putting situations in a broader perspective can help. Yes, we can do many things ourselves, but at what cost? Analyzing the full picture and making decision that bring a better balance to your life can help you to be happier and healthier, which also leads to more prosperity over the long run. In our case, paying to have our roof cleared and ice dams removed is a far lower cost than having to pay for more repairs and renovations later on.

Where would you like more help in your life and what EASY button can you push to help make it happen?

March 20th New Moon and Health
The March 20th new moon is at 29 degrees Pisces.  A solar eclipse also happens that day and it is our Spring Equinox. Wow, what a powerful energy day!

There’s a contrast of events going on too. Similar to February, this new moon is also at the 29th degree of its sign (Pisces). New moons are about new beginnings. When they occur in the last degrees of a sign, however, they are more about bringing things to a close first. Maybe the March 20th new moon is really about bringing winter to a close so that we can begin spring on a fresh note.

Pisces is a water sign that calls us to explore the deeper side of life, our dreams, and our authentic selves. This can be an inspirational time to help you better understand your deep inner thoughts and feelings.  This spring, we are likely to have a lot of excess water as the snow melts. Take precautions if you are in a flood zone or your house backs up with water during such times. You might shovel some of the snow away from your foundation as well as have an extra water pump on hand.

Pisces also correlates with the Center of your home, according to Simone Butler’s system of Astro Feng Shui. In the Flying Star Feng Shui system, the Center of our homes and spaces also holds the energy of the argumentative #3 star. By being aware of this, you can avoid saying things that may lead to arguments or conflicts.

Given the placement in the Flying Star system, my overall suggestion is to keep the center of your home relatively quiet this year. If it is cluttered or has a lot of stuck energy, I would gradually
de-clutter, unplug, and then re-energize this area. Some red is helpful in the Center of your home this year. Red could be in the form of a red candle, a red rug, a red tablecloth, a red Buddha or statue, etc. Avoid a lot of metal in the Center of your home. If Metal is already there and a part of your home or the room, fine. Just don’t add any more. Metal colors on the walls (white, light pastels, gray) are OK. Do remove any wind chimes that may be hanging in the Center.

Even though you may not be making a lot of changes or enhancements to the Center of your home, do tune in to the energy of health and overall well-being. As we approach March 20th:
  • Envision your goals
  • Focus on your authentic self
  • Dream big and imagine what is possible
  • Explore whatever is deep within your heart
The March 20th new moon is about endings, completions, and letting go. In addition to bidding goodbye to winter, what health challenges are you ready to bring to an end or resolve once and for all? As we let go of the old, something new will take its place. Wouldn't it be nice to experience renewed stamina and long term vibrant health? What obstacles can you remove or move beyond so that this can happen for you?

Take time for self-introspection and sense life’s meaning from deep within. You may find yourself on a path to discover more meaning in your life and your relationships, find ways to heal long standing issues, become inspired to do something completely new or open your heart to that which you truly desire. Allow the possibility that things can shift in magical ways. Then tune in to the April 4th full moon and Lunar Eclipse, paying attention to how the thoughts you have rooted are beginning to take shape … just in time for the full emergence of spring.
Feng Shui Cures:  Bamboo Flutes
Bamboo flutes can be used to make very powerful feng shui adjustment in homes and businesses. Bamboo is a quick growing, sustainable wood, noted for its support, strength and protective qualities. As bamboo grows, each section is longer than the previous one, symbolizing upward growth, life and vitality.

As a cure or adjustment, bamboo flutes can be used in any gua to support, strengthen, or protect any area of your life. Flutes are hung with the mouthpiece, the longer section of the bamboo, facing up. The part of the flute with the shorter section will face down or towards the floor.

When used in cures and adjustments, bamboo flutes are more powerful if they are hung with the mouthpiece to the left and also using a red string or ribbon.  There should also be two red tassels, with one red tassel on each end tied to the ribbon or string. Bamboo flutes should be treated with respect. They are not used as musical instruments. Blowing in them will diminish their effectiveness as a cure.

There are many bamboo flute cures. If you would like a specific cure to align with your intention, contact Peg.

Bamboo Flutes can be purchased from many feng shui sites. Two favorite sites are Feng Shui Shopper and the Feng Shui Emporium.
Uplifting Spaces via Aromatherapy
Would you like to usher in spring a little more quickly this year? Consider adding essential oils. They are a quick and effective way to uplift the energy of any space. Essential oils are extracted from plants and have long been known to offer therapeutic benefits. Be sure to use real oils that are natural and free of chemicals and toxins. Each oil will introduce the unique qualities and properties of the specific plant from which is was extracted. You can easily experience the joy of essential oils using diffuser sticks in a small glass jar, vase or container.

Many of the diffuser products on the market contain artificial fragrances and ingredients, which contribute to asthma and indoor air quality problems, so choose all natural products for overall well-being and balance. I recommend the aromatherapy oils, diffuser kits, and products from Just Naturals & Co. in Bedford, NH. All products are locally made, produced and packaged.

Some of my favorites for this time of year include:
  • Lemongrass: promotes clarity of thought; invigorating, enhancing & warming; promotes intuitive awareness & purification
  • Jasmine Lemongrass: improves memory, promotes mental clarity and accuracy, purifying, uplifting and antidepressant, supports health and well-being, stimulating and invigorating.
  • Rosemary Mint: improves clarity & focus; helps with mental fatigue; opens & releases mental block; brings about a feeling of balance & lasting sense of well-being; purifying & stimulating; increases mental accuracy & helps to relieve headache pain
  • Patchouli Orange: calming and clarifying, promotes a sense of balance and empowerment, uplifting and helps release negative emotions.
  • Tangerine Lime: promotes happiness, calming, relaxing and boosts immunity
  • Lavender/Eucalyptus: promotes health & wellbeing; promotes purification & healing; calming & relaxing; balancing - both physically  & emotionally
