Hello,
If you’re feeling like me, that this year has zipped by! Take time this month to slow down and enjoy the season. Time has sped up so much that things that happened last week feel like the distant past. Expect this to continue. An antidote is to stay in the moment, create space in each day,
and experience joy, as best you can. I find a lot of joy outside in nature, in close relationships, preparing delicious food, sharing special activities and moments with others, listening to uplifting music, and in the simpler aspects of life.
Filling your home with beautiful music is a great way to raise the vibe! In our home, we love playing Christmas carols and classical, sacred music during the holidays. I also bake
regularly and fill our home with the scents of fresh baked bread, soups, cookies, and other fresh foods. To offset cooking, I go out for 4-5 mile hikes. We also enjoy decorating a fresh Christmas tree and love the amazing balsam scent that fills our home.
Whatever your traditions are, enjoy the process. If they no longer bring you joy or it’s time for a shift, create new patterns. It’s OK. Do your best to
minimize stress and/or fulfilling other people’s expectations. Also, stretch things out. There are eight days of Hanukkah and 12 days of Christmas. It’s OK to extend celebrations. What’s more important is to let go of expectations, ground your energy, be kind to yourself, and find meaning in each day.
After the holidays I’ll prepare Flying Star charts for 2026. Chinese New Year is February 17th, the year of the
Fire Horse. We’ll have some time to get ready. If you’d like a chart for your home prepared or to have your chart updated, let me know.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Holidays … however you celebrate!
