Happy New Year! I hope you had very happy holidays, in spite of any challenges along your path. My holidays were very full and relaxing. I had a nice mix of activities and visits with family and friends. January is shaping up to be a month overflowing with wonderful
energy. Take time to recharge yourself and set your intentions and priorities for the year ahead. Reflect on what you’d like to be different for yourself this year. In what areas would you like to grow, adjust, or change? What shifts would you like to make in your home? Susannah Conway’s annual planning guide is a wonderful resource for this process. Here’s a link. It’s meant to be done over several days. The year of the Yang Wood Dragon begins with the February 4th solar new year. Chinese (Lunar) New Year is February 10th. The January 11th new moon in Capricorn is an excellent planning cycle. It’s a good time to set your intentions and take inspiring action to get them started. Capricorn is a clear and focused sign that helps you to reorganize activities, consider the long-term implications, and plan for the future.

Mercury Retrograde Dates for 2024

Mark your calendars for the 2024 Mercury Retrograde cycles. They are: April 1 -25 Aug 5 – 28 Nov 25 – Dec 15 These periods are fine for vacations, as long as you allow for extra time for connections if you are traveling or flying. They are also excellent periods for renovating, redoing something, repairing items, researching, retreats, and many activities that begin with the letters “re.” They are not good periods for buying a
car, signing contracts (including buying a house), or purchasing electronics. I have a friend who purchased a house near the tail end of a Mercury retrograde cycle over 18 months ago and still has not moved in. Her house has had many challenges, including the well going dry, furnace repairs, and more. At the time. she was unwilling to wait a few more days for a favorable cycle before closing on her
property. Forewarned is forearmed!
